One Claude Skill to rule them all 👑

Building an "orchestrator skill" within Claude Cowork.

Hello everybody, welcome back to Moodboard 🌴

Every new client at Tailwind, our newsletter agency, goes through a comprehensive onboarding process.

Multiple-step actions around project setup, branding, content planning, platform build, first draft, etc.

As you may have noticed from the last three weeks of Moodboard, I’m obsessing a bit over Claude Cowork 😬

So, yesterday, I decided that I was going to scope and build the entire new client onboarding process out in Cowork.

Pretty quickly, I realized that trying to cram everything into one massive skill was not going to work very well.

What I actually needed was a system of skills: one orchestrator skill that acts as the control center, with a collection of specialized sub-skills underneath it that each handle one piece of the process.

So, I mapped out every task involved in onboarding a new client, then highlighted the steps that could have their own dedicated sub-skills.

From there, I passed the map to Claude and started building: the orchestrator skill first, then the sub-skills one by one.

The build itself was specific to my agency, but the concepts behind it apply to any repeatable task that requires multiple interdependent deliverables.

Let’s talk through what I learned and how you can use it 👇
